Born and raised in Barangdi, Min Prasad was among the few to pursue higher education, earning a Bachelor’s degree in English. Initially lured by opportunities abroad, societal expectations led him to Dubai as a migrant worker. However, his return to Barangdi marked a pivotal moment when he resolved to contribute meaningfully to his community. Partnering with fellow visionary Prabin Bhattarai, Min Prasad ventured into entrepreneurship with an NPR 8 lakh investment in a dairy farm. Min Prasad’s journey was not without challenges. The transition from a migrant worker to an entrepreneur posed financial risks and operational hurdles. However, guided by his learnings and determination, he navigated these challenges to establish three thriving enterprises—a grocery store, a clothing shop, and a poultry farm. These ventures not only sustain his livelihood but also contribute significantly to the local economy. Daayitwa’s REAP played a crucial role in Min Prasad’s entrepreneurial journey, providing mentorship, networking opportunities, and recognition. The program not only validated his efforts but also connected him with resources and expertise essential for scaling his enterprises and driving community impact. Today, at the age of 30, Min Prasad Neupane serves as a respected local representative, advocating for infrastructural improvements to support modernized agriculture in Palpa. His leadership extends beyond politics, influencing local farmers and entrepreneurs to embrace innovation and sustainable practices. He mentors aspiring entrepreneurs, emphasizing the potential for prosperity within their own village, thereby reducing the allure of risky migrant work abroad. Min Prasad Neupane’s journey epitomizes the spirit of local entrepreneurship and transformative leadership.
