Mina Kumari Bashyal

Mina Kumari Bashyal's journey is a testament to resilience and entrepreneurial spirit. After completing her SLC and facing limitations in pursuing further education due to marriage, Bashyal found herself exploring the world of tailoring. Starting modestly with basic sewing skills learned at home, she set up a small workshop and began stitching and cutting fabrics. Her initial investment of Rs. 8,000 in equipment marked the inception of her entrepreneurial venture, which would later grow into something remarkable. The path was not without its challenges. Starting from scratch meant navigating financial constraints and the intricacies of establishing a business. However, with determination and a commitment to learning, Bashyal registered her business in 2076 B.S. and progressively expanded her operations. She embraced opportunities for further training, including passing Level 2 CIT exams, which equipped her to teach and mentor others in the art of tailoring. Daayitwa has played a crucial role in empowering entrepreneurs like Bashyal. This financial stability has enabled her to reinvest in her business and plan for future expansion. Beyond financial success, Mina’s impact on her community is profound. She has trained and educated over 40 to 60 women annually in tailoring skills, empowering many to start their own ventures. Notably, she has directly employed three individuals and provided additional seasonal employment to two more during peak production periods. Her business not only contributes to the local economy but also fosters a spirit of self-reliance and empowerment among women in her community. Mina’s journey exemplifies a growth mindset characterized by resilience, continuous learning, and adaptability. From learning basic skills at home to becoming a certified trainer and business owner, she has embraced challenges as opportunities for growth.
